PUBLISHER'S NOTES * PUBLISHER'S NOTES * PUBLISHER'S NOTES

My thanks to all those who sent their congratulations on the marriage of my
youngest son last Saturday. The wedding was lovely, and we had a nice
reception at the home of one of the bride's siblings in Washington. We are
in the process of preparing for an open house here in Utah this next
Friday--boy, is there lots to do!

All is good, however, as we are enjoying the focus on the kids' new
marriage. (And eventually things will get back to normal, if we can just
remember what normal is. <g>)

Thanks, again.

-Allen

------------------------------
Underlining Section References Automatically
------------------------------
If you have a document that has some sort of keyword within it (such as
"Section") you may want to automatically format that keyword in some way.
This tip addresses just such a situation, and shows how you can apply the
formatting you need.

this tip.)

------------------------------
Field Reference to Number of Prior Pages
------------------------------
Fields are used for all sorts of purposes in Word, but typically to provide
some sort of dynamic information. This tip shows some of the power of fields
by using them to calculate and display the number of previous pages in a
document.

tip.)

|---------------------------------------------------------------|

------------------------------
Removing Automatic Lines
------------------------------
Type a few dashes, underscores, or equal signs, and you could end up with a
full-width line in your document. This is normal behavior for Word, but it
may not be the behavior you want. This tip explains why you get these types
of lines and how you can get rid of them.

------------------------------
Creating a Drop Cap
------------------------------
Drop caps can be a nice finishing touch for some types of documents.
Word allows you to create three types of drop caps, and to adjust how those
drop caps appear.

------------------------------
Ignoring Accented Characters in Searches
------------------------------
I have many files of French names. Since use of accents varies on the names,
I would like to be able to search for names without having to include the
accents. Can Word perform "accent insensitive" searches?
(Sheila Jacques)

------------------------------
Spell Check Misses Misspelled Words
------------------------------
The strangest thing just occurred this week. I ran a spell check and Word
did not detect several misspelled words. Why would this happen?
That is the whole point of using a spellchecker--to find misspelled words. I
work with contracts that are revised many times over before they are signed.
Having to read the entire document for a misspelled word is very
time-consuming. (Barbara Ramos)
