Meanwhile, back at the ranch...
Well, our house isn't really a ranch, but we are back at it. We got back
late Wednesday from a ten-day trip to parts north, and we've spent the rest
of the week trying to catch up. Regardless of how well you try to plan, it
seems that the to-do list gets overloaded whenever you go away for a few
days. This trip was no exception.
Even still, we are glad to be back home for at least a few days before
taking off again for another trip late next week.

"Point page" is the name given to a page inserted between other pages in a
revision process. These point pages are numbered differently than the
surrounding pages. This tip explains how you can create point pages using

If you have a document that includes many, many sections, you may want to
change each section so that its headers and footers are the same as the
section before it. This tip explains how to do the conversion manually, as
well as with a very quick little macro.

Delays when Double-Clicking a Document Icon

When I save a document on my desktop and try to later open it by
double-clicking the document icon, Word freezes up for a period of time
while trying to open the document. (It doesn't hang forever, but seems to
take quite a while to open the document.) If I open Word and use the Open
dialog box to open the document, it opens right away.
This is becoming annoying; what could be causing this problem? (Sal

Finicky Graphics
------------------------------
I'm having trouble with one of our marketing personnel's Word documents. She
has a number of "cut sheets," basically little 1-2 page fliers about
individual projects our firm has worked on. When she opens them in Print
Layout view, she cannot see the graphics. When I right-click on a graphic
and bring it to the front, that one graphic will show. If I do the same
thing to the second graphic, the second graphic shows up, but the first
graphic disappears. The graphics do show up in Print Preview, but not in
Print Layout view. This problem has only cropped up since this user switched
from Office 2000 to Office 2003. Why does this happen, and how can I fix it?
