PUBLISHER'S NOTES * PUBLISHER'S NOTES * PUBLISHER'S NOTES

Today we are off attending the marriage of our youngest son, Andrew, to his
beautiful sweetheart, Holly. They are a lovely couple, getting married in
Spokane, Washington. By the time you read this they should be tying the
knot, and will always have 07/07/07 as their own.

My best to all on this fine day.

-Allen

------------------------------
Setting a Default for the Object Browser
------------------------------
Does it bother you that when you press Ctrl+Page Up or Ctrl+Page Down you
aren't always taken to the top of the previous or next pages?
Believe it or not, this is normal behavior, as the shortcuts represent ways
to search for items using the Object Browser. This tip explains how to
eliminate this behavior so the shortcuts always go the previous or next
pages.

------------------------------
Margins Incorrect When Printing
------------------------------
If you notice that the margins on a printout aren't the same as those you
have set within Word, there could be any number of reasons. This tip
provides some guidance on how you can start to track down the problem.

------------------------------
Creating Thin Spaces
------------------------------
Thin spaces are a typographic device that allows you add a bit of space
between elements of a document. There are no thin spaces available in Word
(as separate characters), but you can create the same effect produced by
thin spaces by using the ideas presented in this tip.

------------------------------
Searching for Text With a Certain Format
------------------------------
The Find and Replace tool in Word is very powerful. You can use it to search
not only for text but for the formatting that may be applied to text. This
tip explains how you can search for just the formatting you need.

------------------------------
Underlining Section References Automatically
------------------------------
Is there a way to automatically underline all instances of the word
"Section" and any ancillary information following ? For example "Section
2.3(b)(i)" or "Section 5.21" or "Section 12.12(a)"? Any help would be
appreciated. (Agnes Foster)

------------------------------
Field Reference to Number of Prior Pages
------------------------------
I have two sections in my document. The first section consists of a single
title page. The second section is quite long. At several points in the
document I have text that states "... see information in the preceding X
pages." I want to insert some kind of field in the place of "X" so that the
text always shows the number of pages prior to the page on which the field
appears, without counting the title page (first section). What is the
easiest way to do this? (Stephanie
Wallace)
